Pond Underlayment is recommended for all pond liners, and is typically available in 5', 10' and 15' widths, but you can use it to accommodate any size pond by simply overlapping multiple pieces with no seaming required. Using a proper Pond Liner Underlayment makes pond liner more puncture resistant and protects from sharp objects in the soil. It also stabilizes the ground under the liner to keep EPDM and other pond liners from "over-stretching" and resists "settling" unlike newspaper or sand.
